Beatbox is an exclusive Japanese whisky lounge and listening room located in a secret space inside KONO’s dining room. This special experience began as a collaboration between Beam Suntory and two of KONO’s partners: chef Atsushi “ATS” Kono and Selwyn Chan, a fellow audiophile. It has thus far been used privately to entertain VIPs and other clientele. At Beatbox, there is a curated selection of high-end Japanese whiskys to choose from. Guests are invited to listen to one record, from start to finish, while enjoying personalized beverage service. They may choose from Beatbox’s album collection – which features a wide range of genres, with a focus on jazz, funk, and old school hip hop – or bring a record of their own to enjoy during the booking period. The dimly lit room is inspired by the listening cafes and tachinomis that date back to 1960s Japan and was designed to evoke a sense of nostalgia and provide an intimate oasis to sip on exquisite whisky and wine while listening to the smooth sounds of vinyl.
